Amelia is a second-year MA student working under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Woolf. Prior to joining Queen鈥檚 University, she earned a B.A.H. in History and Political Science from Brescia University College at Western University. Her current research explores the role of Irish women writers in shaping nationalist historical discourse in the late nineteenth century. In particular, she is focused on demonstrating the diversity of female nationalist history writing and the ways these women addressed issues of gender, authority, and distance in narrating the past. Her broader research interests include early modern female rule, post-Reformation mixed marriages, nineteenth-century British female Catholic converts, and historiography.
