Future Research Interests

Climate Change Action

As climate change is becoming an increasingly pressing issue, the department remains deeply interested in Ecopoetics and Ecocriticism. Our goal is to further strengthen this growing area of Humanities and Social Science research by attracting leaders in the field through a QNS position or a Canada Research Chair.

Strengthening French Teaching

Given the number of Concurrent Education students majoring or minoring in French, our unit seeks to secure a position that will attract a leading researcher in the field of Second Language Acquisition. This will provide our students and future teachers with the most up-to-date evidence-based methods for successful language teaching and strengthen our ties with the Faculty of Education.
