Principal’s Global Scholars Award for Graduate Students

As part of the Principal’s Global Scholars, the Principal’s Global Scholars Award for Graduate Students supports newly admitted students who have experienced forced migration within the past five years in eligible, full-time research-based graduate degree programs and the Smith MBA program. 

This award is a two-year pilot project, starting in 2025.

Award Details

Interested candidates should apply if they:

  • have not received funding previously through the Principal’s Global Scholars and Fellows program,
  • have experienced forced migration within the last five years and are a Government Assisted Refugee (GAR) or a Privately Sponsored Refugee (PSR) in Canada, and
  • are newly admitted in 2025-26 to any eligible full-time, research- based graduate degree program at Queen’s University.

All programs that charge standard domestic and international tuition fees.

Also includes Queen’s MBA. 

Note: this initiative excludes any degree, except Queen’s MBA, that charges more than standard international student tuition, including professional and diplomas.

Five awards will be made annually. One $25,000 (one time) award for the Smith MBA program and four $10,000 awards (one time) for students in all other eligible programs.

Selection will be made by the Principal Global Scholars Advisory Committee.
